Basil: This plant is one of the most widely known and grown herbs in the world.

Nutrients:

  • Vitamin K – aides in blood clotting 2tbs is RDA

  • Vitamin A – aides in vision and immune health

  • Magnesium (M)- helps keep blood pressure normal, heart rate stable and bones strong

Benefits:

  • Good for Digestion and stomach problems

  • Helps with acne

  • Has antibacterial properties

  • Provides inflammatory relief for those with rheumatoid arthritis

Fun Fact:

  • There are more phytochemicals are found in the stem

Recipe:

Pesto

  • 1 cup firmly packed fresh basil leaves

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds

  • 1/4 cup raw pine nuts

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Blend all ingredients
